We’re thrilled to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Hippocratic AI and AI Singapore (AISG)! This MOU brings together the complementary strengths of both organisations to create impactful AI solutions, advancing language technologies that cater to Southeast Asian languages and cultural contexts.

Why This Partnership is Powerful:

  • Hippocratic AI brings world-class expertise in building autonomous, voice-based healthcare agents powered by generative AI. With a commitment to safe and effective healthcare communication, Hippocratic AI has developed unique capabilities for interpreting user intent, understanding medical terminology, and engaging in natural conversations. As we expand our focus to diverse linguistic and cultural nuances, Hippocratic AI will provide valuable end-user feedback and new training data that will help refine and localise models.
  • AISG is a national R&D programme in AI which aims to anchor deep national capabilities in artificial intelligence. AISG has released the SEA-LION family of LLMs that cater to Southeast Asian tasks and contexts and is well placed to navigate the cultural and linguistic complexity in Southeast Asia.

Key Highlights of the Partnership:

  • Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) for Singlish and Indonesian: Together, we aim to co-develop an ASR model tailored for Singlish and potentially Indonesian. Leveraging AISG’s Singlish ASR API and Hippocratic AI’s healthcare-oriented language processing expertise, we’re committed to creating a high-accuracy model that respects the intricacies of these languages. Hippocratic AI will contribute feedback from real-world applications and new training data to help continuously improve model precision and usability, while AISG will provide valuable engineering expertise toward the effort.
  • Singapore Contextual Understanding: Another key goal is to develop a text-based model that understands Singapore’s unique linguistic and cultural context. By integrating local phrases, expressions, and specific needs, this model will enhance user experience and interaction in areas such as healthcare, making it more accessible and relevant to Singaporean users.
