First and foremost, we look for individuals with a decent foundation in Python programming, AI and machine learning knowledge and some software engineering experience. GIT is a must! Additionally, knowledge of cloud computing, databases, SQL and general software development principles will be good to have.

However, technical capabilities are not enough. We also look for individuals who are passionate about AI and machine learning and who are eager to learn and grow in these fields. We seek apprentices who are curious, motivated, and enthusiastic about the potential of AI and are keen to help transform the Singapore ecosystem.

Self-Learning Traits

AIAP do not have classroom tutorials or lectures. We have many discussions. The AIAP programme is designed to be self-directed, and we expect our apprentices to take ownership of their learning experience. We look for individuals who are autonomous, resourceful, and self-motivated and who have a track record of self-directed learning.

We also value individuals who are adaptable and able to learn quickly. The field of AI is rapidly evolving, and we need apprentices who can keep up with the latest developments and technologies. This means being able to learn new AI or software frameworks and tools quickly, read state-of-the-art recently published research papers and being able to apply them to their projects.
