DataCamp and AI Singapore sign MoU to promote mentorship and training
Singapore, 2 August, 2018 – DataCamp, a leading online learning platform for Data Science, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AI Singapore to promote training and mentorship in the areas of Data Science and artificial intelligence (AI).
Under the MoU, AI Singapore will leverage DataCamp’s online learning platform to enhance their AI Apprenticeship Programme (AIAP). The AIAP is a 9-month full time programme to train AI/ML engineers for the Singapore industry. AIAP participants will have full access to DataCamp’s complete online curriculum for learning, practicing, and applying R, Python, SQL, and other programming languages. The Data Science skills they gain will enable them to address real world AI problems during the AIAP and afterwards as AI professionals.
“DataCamp is honored to have been selected by AI Singapore as their online learning platform for Data Science,” said Jonathan Cornelissen, CEO and Founder of DataCamp. “We believe in learning by doing. Our learn-practice-apply model makes it easy to quickly move from learning to applying Data Science skills to real world problems. Our online learning platform is ideally suited to AIAP’s goals and structure. We are eager to see the innovative work that the AIAP participants will do.”
“We are excited about the collaboration with DataCamp as it is one of the leading online platforms to learn R, Python and Machine Learning quickly,” said Laurence Liew, Director of AI Industry Innovation, AI Singapore. “Besides the DataCamp platform, what is unique about this collaboration is the opportunity for AI Singapore’s apprentices and engineers to work alongside world-renowned R and Python developers and thought leaders to jointly develop and enhance existing and new R and Python machine learning packages for the community.”
